Now, aint that a female-dog?!
It's one thing being a war-lord, stripping yourself off any decent humanizing attributes but slapping a "لا إلة إلا اللة" head band on your damn head and claiming it all in the name of islam is appaling. Orphaning them, casting them out to starvation, forcing them to seek refuge anywhere but their own home and as if that wasn't enough, now you wanna take away their right to a decent education? Tryna break some record are we?

Worth the watch!
''Perhaps we are all refugees from something, but I see now there is nothing to fear, that the world we hold onto, the lives we cherish, are a part of something greater, something more. When I look at my children I see it so clearly, that hope, that chance of life, and I know it's worth fighting for.''

Media WHORE of the year!
Let me begin by thanking my wife and kids for giving me the freedom - to frolic. It has been a dream of mine to one day achieve the honor of being on every cover of every magazine, every channel on radio and television and all the front pages of every newspaper. I want to thank Oprah, Ellen & Sally Jessy Raphael. I would also like to thank the artists without whose captivating hooks and fetching beats, I wouldn't be here tonight. And Israel for opposing Gaza at a crucial point in my career. Not to mention, the stylists and make-up artists that prep me before every interview. Finally, I'd like to thank generally the world for keeping tabs on me. Ideally, words cannot be enough to express my gratitude. The year has just begun.
Thank you.
*shuffles notes*
Now, if there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who wonders if dreams really do come true, who still questions the power of our media...
Tonight is your answer!
*long pause for cheers*
Thank you very much.

The Last Sermon
- Beware of the devil, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
- O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. It is your right and they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste...
- All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.
Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.

Water Crisis
A catastrophic water shortage could prove an even bigger threat to mankind this century than soaring food prices and the relentless exhaustion of energy reserves, according to a panel of global experts at the Goldman Sachs "Top Five Risks" conference.
- Telegraph -
There is a water crisis today. But the crisis is not about having too little water to satisfy our needs. It is a crisis of managing water so badly that billions of people - and the environment - suffer badly." World Water Vision Report
The Quran says:
وَمَا أَصَابَكُمْ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَنْ كَثِيرٍ
“And whatsoever of affliction which befalls on you is owing to that which your hands earned; and He pardons much.”

The Middle East region hit by the worst drought in modern times. Water scarcity is becoming a source of increasing conflict between countries in the Middle East and North Africa, leading analysts to predict an increase in future wars and billions of dollars in direct and indirect damage to the region’s economies.
The Qur’an also says:

Euphrates is drying up...
Turkey, Iraq and Syria in water crisis summit
ISTANBUL, Turkey (CNN) -- Turkish, Iraqi and Syrian ministers met in Ankara on Thursday to discuss water shortages in the major Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which run through all three countries.
The Turkish government said rainfall over its part of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers plummeted by about 46 percent in the past three years.

It's official.
The Euphrates is drying up. Strangled by the water policies of Iraq’s neighbors, Turkey and Syria; a two-year drought; and years of misuse by Iraq and its farmers, the river is significantly smaller than it was just a few years ago.
Iraq is suffering one of the worst droughts in decades. While this is bad news for farmers, it is good news for archaeologists in the country.
"About a year ago when the waters started to recede, these artifacts began to show up. We began looking around the area, and we found clay jars and old bones, coins and even some gold jewelry," says fisherman Sa'ad Naji.
For now, he says, the looting is confined to mostly local people who don't know the value of what they've taken.

Her works have been featured in galleries in London and Bristol, UK. iRI5's art has also been featured on major websites and in newspapers and magazines all over the world. Although iri5 loves to express her vision through art, she is also adept at creating commercial works and readily communicates the vision of her clientele.
Here’s what Iri5 has to say about her work:
"I am an artist who specializes in using non traditional media… old books, cassettes, playing cards, magazines, credit cards… whatever I can find. It feels great to work with strange, older materials. Things that have a mind of their own. Most everything I use has been thrown away or donated at some point. Past its prime, like some of the finest things in the world."

The Call of Bilâl and the Tears of Al Shâm
It is said that the adhân of the people of Al-Shâm was taken from this adhân.
Interesting.
I've been watching this Syrian show as of late right and I don't usually watch Syrian or Lebanese series simply because I can't get used to the dialect - being raised in the Gulf (Khaleej) and all. Anyway the show's called Bab el-Hara and I always find myself admiring their Adhan (call to prayer) more than I would the khaleeji or egyptian versions. Guess there was a valid reason afterall.
